OK maybe not abandon all hope. I am however in a deep funk. I predict this country is headed down a very bad road. The same road that the anemic economies of Europe have gone down.
In an effort to look for a silver lining I will say that the one good thing that will come out of this is that NEVER AGAIN WILL SOMEONE CALLING AMERICA A RACIST COUNTRY HAVE ANY CREDIBILITY. That lie now has a stake through its putrid heart.
The ray of hope is that conservative Republicans can get there act together and capitalize on the coming disaster to sweep back into office in 4 years. More on a blueprint for that will be coming in a future post.
For now I suggest prayer. Pray that Barack Obama is kept safe. Pray that this country wakes up to the fact that they threw out the baby with the bathwater and pray that our culture turns from its immoral ways.

Is your head exploding like all the other talking heads on hate radio?
Life is good dammit!
Enjoy yourself.
He who laughs last laughs best.
The wheel will turn.
Oh no...not another Bush/Cheney torture joke! Don't you mean Rack instead of Wheel?
So much for the thought of us not being racists any longer...
Cross burned on lawn of Obama supporters
By SAMANTHA HENRY • GANNETT NEW JERSEY • November 7, 2008
HARDWICK — A family who had supported Barack Obama's presidential campaign emerged from their home in the northwestern New Jersey town of Hardwick Thursday morning to find the charred remnants of a 6-foot wooden cross on their front lawn.
Pieces of a homemade bedsheet banner reading "President Obama -- Victory '08," which had been stolen from the yard the night before, also were found, leading investigators to believe the banner had been wrapped around the cross before it was set afire.
Grewal said his 8-year-old daughter, Arianna, spotted the banner wrapped around the burnt cross as they walked toward their car to drive to school.
"She saw it, that's what bothered me the most," Grewal said Thursday. "You can imagine the types of questions she was asking. It was very tough to explain."
Grewal, 51, a management consultant who emigrated from India, has lived in Hardwick Township, a largely rural community of about 1,500 people in Warren County, about 40 miles northwest of Newark, since 2001.
"I'm amazed this can happen in this time and age," Alina Grewal said. "We're in the Millennium, the world has changed."
Well, apparently not.
Ahh guilt by association. We have a small minority of racsists so the whole nation is racsist.
The depths of your intellectual abilities never ceases to amaze me.
Kind of like Ayers and Wright...guilt by association.
that analogy does not even come close to being logical.
You can not hold a whole country guilty for the acts of a few. Of course if the guy who burned that cross was my close friend it would not be illogical to conclude I may be a racsist.
Perhaps a better term for what you did is collective guilt
